Project Chess Progress 2025

After about 3 years of non playing otb-chess and a year after my last log in on lichess, playing some classical games against a friend and watching some of the world championship games I now fell in love with this beautiful game once more.

Having played online blitz games for a month again, I already played my first blitz tournament in nearly 6 years. 6/11 points was way more than I expected - driven by that result and by this special athmosphere which comes along with chess tournaments made me hungry again for more:

  • more tournaments
  • more knowledge of the game
  • more ELO

So the plan is to pair the gains of chess knowledge with learning more about Hugo. With this blog I want to keep track of my chess progress over the next year. A sideproject within is to try not to forget about the english language, thats why this page is available bilingual.

(Variable) goals are:

  • to play more tournaments (OTB)
  • to play less blitz games online
  • to play more classical games
  • to learn how to analyse my games properly
  • building up an opening repertoire for black & white
  • hybrid learning: online and from the book!
  • to play at least one classical game a week + analyse it

This website’s primary use should be to give me an overview of my learning progress and through that keep me motivated.
